We regret that, as from June 25th, we will no longer be operating at our current location. For interest of current and past members, the remainder of this site is being kept online.
Update - Wednesday, 3pm
Apparently the access road leading to the clubhouse has been blocked off today - so, it looks like no access for either our workers or members is currently possible. We are making efforts to be permitted access but so far have not had any success with this.

The Home of Golf in Jeddah |
|
Desert Lakes Golf Course is a members' club situated on the outskirts of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The club has existed in its current form and location for over 15 years now and has approaching 200 members.
Due to the prevailing climate, grass is rarely seen in these parts and the course consists of a variety of natural and artificial hazards providing a challenging test of golf. The fairways are constructed of compacted and rolled sand and the 'browns' (the desert equivalent of greens) are made of a mixture of sand bonded with waste oil. 'Water' hazards are defined by the use of red or yellow stakes and conical piles of sand provide us with 'trees'.
Players carry a mat, usually consisting of a short pile of plastic fibre backed with rubber sheet, to provide a credible feeling of playing on grass. On the browns, the surface provides a consistent 'feel' comparable to grass.
The club has an active membership drawn from many walks of life and nationalities and provides a busy competition programme. In this website, you may register and browse recent competition results and other reports. A recent addition is our Photo Gallery which will grow as the site develops and display images from our course and competitions.
We welcome you to our website and invite you to explore our club and course. |
